Prep work:

Research the company you’re interviewing for. download their apps, read through their newsletters. stay up to date on what they’re working on.

Prepare for each interview round by writing down a list of questions to prepare for on a google doc.

Interview Rounds:

1. Recruiter / Talent-Acquisition Screen

What to expect: 15 min phone or video call covering resume basics, salary range, visa status, start-date flexibility, and a high-level “Why UX / why us?” answer. Focus on behavior questions: “tell me about yourself.” “what interests you in this company?”

2. Hiring-Manager Conversation

What to expect: 30-45 min video chat that tests cultural add, problem-solving depth, and portfolio highlights. Use the STAR method to answer questions. They want to see your passion, your fire, your excitement for the role, industry, company, UX design. The manager will ask you a lot of intro, behavioral, and process questions.

Focus on questions like: “Walk me through your design process.” "How do you stay up-to-date with the latest UX trends and technologies?” “What are your favorite UX design tools and why?”

3. Portfolio Presentation / Case-Study Deep-Dive

What to expect: 45-60 min slide-share where you walk through 1-2 end-to-end projects. Questions will all depend on the team, but expect lots of questions of why you did the design a certain way. Panel looks for process depth and storytelling.
